An evaluation review appointment will include discussing the findings of the assessment and any necessary recommendations. No. These services are available without an assessment completed by our group.
We strive to create a welcoming, comfortable, and fun environment for our patients. However, we realize your child might be nervous in a clinical setting. It is always a good idea to make sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before and eats a balanced meal prior to the assessment. Especially for our young patients, the assessment is primarily play-based so they tend to think it's really fun and relax once the assessment begins. If you have significant concern for how your child might react in a clinical environment, please contact us in advance to discuss strategies and ideas that both the parents and TAAAG can prepare to use prior to your arrival.
You have the option of scheduling a Consult Appointment to discuss your concerns and questions; however, our Patient Intake Form, along with a detailed patient history will provide information that will result in a collaborative approach for appropriate assessment needed.
If we determine that any additional evaluation is needed, we will communicate this to you and obtain any necessary consent.
You, as the parent/guardian, can be in the assessment room, depending on the age of the child. However, for older children having a parent/guardian in the assessment room can possibly invalidate the results of the assessment. For this reason, we will work with you and your child to provide a comfortable environment, while ensuring accurate assessment results.
